Festive Favorites - Reindeer

Here is another card (this is the third out of four) that we'll be making at the Stamp-a-Stack for World Card Making Day on Oct. 3rd and 6th.

This design uses the gate fold which is a very easy card to make.  It's also fun for the recipient when they open it up.  The colors in this picture are a bit more vibrant then they really are.  The yellow card stock is really More Mustard...kinda like a yellow ochre.  Also the card stock I used for the card is Natural Ivory and it looks more like white.  I took 7 pictures of this card and this is the only picture that wasn't so horribly blurry that you could actually see the reindeer.  I think I need to invest in a better digital camera!  Although I don't have a job right now, so I guess I had better make do with what I have. 

I stamped the reindeer from the Festive Favorites set with VersaMark and then embossed with Black EP - this helped keep me in the lines when I colored the reindeer.  I added some snow on the ground by coloring with my White Gel Pen...can I just tell you how much I love my White Gel Pen!!!!  Love it, love it, love it!!!!  I used the VersaMark on the first line of the saying "wishing you" and stamped it on the Real Red cs and then put the Black EP on it and heat embossed it.  Then I stamped the snowflakes with VersaMark after, that way you only emboss the words and not the snowflakes.  How do I know this?  Because I did it the other way first and thought I had let the VersaMark snowflakes dry long enough before I stamped the words.  Well, let me just tell you that black snowflakes are NOT attractive.  LOL

Snowman Punch

Today's card uses 6 different SU! Punches!  I had so much fun making this card and seeing how many different punches I could use.  This is another card that we will be doing at my Stamp-A-Stack on World Card Making Day (Oct. 6th from 2:00 - 5:00 pm).  I will also be offering this class on Wednesday night, Oct. 3rd at 7:00 p.m., since I know many people may already be busy on Saturday.  Email me if you are interested in attending one of these classes.  Space is limited so reserve your spot ASAP.

For stamp sets I used Cold Play and I used the jumbo wheel called Snow, which is in the current mini catalog.  See below for all the additional supplies I used.

Punches:  1 1/4" Circle, Snow Blossom, Word Window, Key Tag, Tag Corner and Three For You Punch Box

Card Stock:  Brilliant Blue, Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red

Season of Joy Wreath

I created this card for 2 purposes...I needed a swap for an SU! team meeting yesterday and I needed to create a card for my upcoming National Card Making Day Stamp-a-Stack class I am having on Oct. 3 and Oct 6.  Any time I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone I'm all for it!

I created this card using SU!'s Season of Joy stamp set (which is in the current mini catalog).  The wreath was created using the swirl stamp you see at the bottom of the card.  I stamped the swirl using Always Artichoke ink on all 4 sides of the Whisper White card stock and then stamped the swirl kitty corner on all 4 corners - thats 8 times I stamped the swirl.  I then stamped the poinsettia in Purely Pomegranate ink 8 times around the wreath.  I also stamped the Merry Christmas in Purely Pomegranate in the middle of the wreath.  I used the Ticket Corner punch on each corner.  I layered the Whisper White card stock on a piece of Purely Pomegranate card stock.  I then got out my brads and tried several colors but just couldn't find one that satisfied me...so I decided to emboss the brads with white embossing powder - this was exactly what I was looking for!  However, when I finished my sample card and started making 30 of these cards (to swap) I realized I needed 120 of these embossed brads!!!!  Well with the help of my DH we finished all 120 of them...well actually 121...guess we can't count! LOL

I used Always Artichoke card stock for the card and stamped the swirl and snowflake with VersaMark ink and embossed with white embossing powder - like I didn't already do enough embossing with the brads!  I am happy with the way this card came out.  I also got a call from one of my up-lines last night telling me I won the prize for the best swap yesterday...although there really was no prize other then the phone call.  ha ha ha!  But I was pleased that she took the time to call me and tell me she liked my card!

Paper Pumpkins

Today I created these adorable 3D pumpkins with 1" strips of paper.  I first saw these pumpkins at convention in Denver, but they were strung up like paper lanterns and I couldn't think of any place in my house to hang them, so I decided to just make them look like pumpkins in a basket.  I hope you like them.

I used the Creepy Crawly designer series paper, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon, Pumpkin Pie 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green cardstock.  To make the large pumpkin I cut 14 - 8 inch long strips of paper, then I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch holes in both ends of the strips.  I put the ribbon through the bottom end and tied a knot then pulled the ribbon through the top end of the strips, pulling the ribbon to the desired shaping of the pumpkin.  Tie a knot in the top end of the ribbon and cut it at a slant to resemble the stem of a pumpkin.  For the medium pumpkin I used 12 strips 7" long and for the small pumpkin I used 12 strips 6" long.  I used the 2 different green cardstocks to cut out leaves and strips of paper for the curls.  To make the curls just cut thin strips of cardstock and wrap around a pencil...VIOLA!

Just For You Friend

Sorry that I haven't posted anything for awhile.  I've been chauffeuring one of my daughters to and from college every day, which takes at least half my day everyday.  (She needs to get her license soon!) I've also been cleaning and organizing my upstairs.  I really need to get all my stamping and scrapbooking supplies organized and in one room instead of the bedroom, den, living room and dinning room.  It's hard to get creative when all your supplies are scattered throughout the house.

Today's card is a monochromatic card that I CASED from someone's blog (can't remember who) or from the SplitCoastStampers gallery.  I stamped the top and bottom dotted background on the Almost Amethyst card stock with VersaMark ink using a stamp from the Three For You Punch Box.  Next I layered a 2 1/2" piece of Elegant Eggplant CS in the middle of the card, then adhered a 2" strip of the Prints Designer Series Paper in the middle.  I used a 1/2" strip of Whisper White and stamped "just for you" in Almost Amethyst ink.  I stamped the three flowers on Whisper White and punched out, adhering a flower on each side of the "just for you".  I stamped one of the images from the Totally Tabs stamp set and then punched out using the Round Tab punch.  I stamped "friend" from the Three For You Punch Box set and placed the last flower I punched out on the tab using a silver brad to keep it in place.

Cardstock:  Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White

Paper:  Prints Designer Series Paper - Almost Amethyst

Ink:  VersaMark, Elegant Eggplant

Stamps & Punches:  Three For You Punch Box, Round Tab Punch, Totally Tabs

Well I finally did it!  I plunged into the blogger world.  I hope to periodically post cards, scrapbook pages, and any other items that I stamp. This card is one that I made at the Stampin' Up! convention in Denver.  It was one of our Make 'n Takes and I love the colors.

This card didn't include a whole lot of stamping...actually the only thing stamped is the word "hello".  I used a 6 x 6 piece of the new textured So Saffron cardstock.  A 1 x 6 piece of paper from the Cutie Pie designer series paper was used in the bottom inside of the card.  I cut 1/2" off the bottom of the front of the card and used the 3/16" corner rounder to get the scallop.  The ribbon is from the Fairy Tale assortment.  The flower was punched from Rose Red card stock using the 5-Petal Flower punch and then I used a 5 petal flower from the Build a Flower Accents and Elements.  In the center of the flower is a rhinstone brad.  (All supplies are Stampin' Up!)
