November Stampin' Up! Specials

My apologies to my readers for being absent for so long.  I've been busy with my new job, working overtime and traveling for some training opportunities!  First I started my new job on July 14th, worked for 2 weeks and then went of the SU! Convention in Salt Lake City, UT.  I had so much fun and my roomies (Carolyn, Linda and Susan) were awesome...I hope next year we can be roomies again (hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge)!  I found this video on You Tube this morning (I thought I would get to take advantage of that extra hour of sleep this morning, but my brain was ready to get up!), anyway check out this video from the SU! Convention, we have so much fun at convention and I wanted to share a little bit of it with you.  If you want to take part of the festivities at convention, call me or email me to learn how.

Second, after I got back from the SU! Convention, I worked for 2 more weeks and then went to Roanoke, VA to meet with a few of my team members and learn some things about how to do my new job.  Third, then I got back and worked for 5 weeks and went to San Fransisco, CA for 8 days for Genesys Training and team building with everyone on my team.  We had a great time and tried to do as much sight seeing as we could when we were not in class.  My feet hurt so much every night!  And every morning when I got up I could hardly walk...the good news is that when I got back home several people told me I'd lost weight!  You can never hear that enough times!

The above are some of my reasons (excuses) for not keeping up with my blog.  Additional excuses, my commute to work every day is about an hour and 5 minutes each way...that's 2 hrs and 10 mins each day!  We've had some system problems at work lately too, which has caused me to stay late...which just makes for a really long drive home.

Enough about work and my life...I've updated my blog with the current catalog link, which actually takes you to my SU! website where you can click on the Shop Now button under my name and address on the top right corner of the site, this will take you to the catalog where you can order on-line 24/7!

I have done some SU! parties and I have those samples to share with you.  I just need to take pictures of all those items to share with you later this week, hopefully I will get those pictures taken today.

Stationery Box - 4 Cards

Well it's the final posting of my Stationery Box...the 4 cards!  (I guess I could have dragged this out for another 3 days, showing you only 1 card each day...LOL!  But I won't do that to you.)  I hope you have enjoyed this project as much as I have.  I actually can't wait to have a desk to put this on at work!  I also made a desk set a while back that I'm eager to put on my desk...but I think I need to coordinating all the items, so that means I'll have to make a new set of everything.  Oh darn!  Isn't that too bad....NOT!  LOL!

This is what I am calling the apple card.

Oh, remember I said I would show you strawberry pictures today, well I realized this morning that the good pictures are on my Mom's camera, so I need to have her email me those pictures.  I'll have her do that tomorrow, so I can post them tomorrow.  I made chocolate covered strawberries this morning for a picnic I went to today for Nicole Heady of Papertrey Ink.  I'll have pictures of the choc. covered strawberries and a group  photo of those who attended the picnic.

Stationery Box - 3 x 3 Love Notes

We went strawberry picking today...these strawberries were HUGE...some as big as apples!  And some were shaped very oddly.  I have pictures, but I'm too tired to get the pics out of my camera and crop them, etc.  So, I'll do that tomorrow and post them.  You really have to see these strawberries because we all laughed so hard!

Stationery Box - Tags

As promised here are the 3 tags that are in the stationery box.  I have not stamped any sentiments on them yet, because I haven't decided if they will be for birthdays, thank you's, etc. And I find that several of my customers prefer to stamp those sentiments when the occasion arises.

WOW!  I've been MIA from my blog for 3 months...sorry about that everyone!  After being unemployed for over a year now I decided I needed to concentrate on finding a job and FINALLY yesterday I was offered a position!  I accepted and will be going back to work on July 14th.  So I've got a couple of weeks to get my house in order and spend some time with my girls going to the ocean and the movies.  And the best part is that I can still have time off at the end of July to go to the SU! I've Been Tagged...

I have been tagged by Vickie at Stamping Ever After. Please check her blog out, she has some absolutely beautiful cards!  Thanks Vickie for your kind words about my blog and for tagging me! Here are the rules (they are simple):

Now, here are my 6 non-important things/habits/quirks!

1. I am the most unorganized person!  I'm a "piler" not a "filer".  Funny thing is my two best friends are so organized they are "anal" about it.  LOL!  I do aspire to be like them, but I just never can get to that point.
2. I use to work at a Help Desk and was known as "Queen of all Knowledge"!  I used to know WordPerfect like the back of my hand.
3. I am a perfectionist...I will admit.  Funny, how could I be a perfectionist and be so unorganized? 
4. I started dating/going steady with my husband when I was 15.  We were together for 8 years before we got married.  We have been happily married for 20 years!
5. I used to collect bunnies and used to get teased in college about some day I would have twins (because bunnies always have large litters).  Well, guess what?  I had twin girls 18 years ago!  The doctor told me it was a 1 in 80 chance of having twins in your first pregnancy.  The chance of having twins in your second pregnancy (after already having twins) is 1 in 20!  Well, guess you know we did not have any more children!  I figured if I could hit 1 in 80, I would most likely hit the 1 in 20, besides that my DH found out that his great grandmother had 3 sets of twins!  Yikes!
6. Here's a bit of the 6 degrees of Patrick Dempsey "Dr. McDreamy" - His sister married a 3rd or 4th cousin of mine and I remember seeing him dancing all by himself at the reception (he was probably around 10). They were divorced a few years later.  Then his sister bought my grandmother's house here in my home town, which I have been told he helped knocked down a wall.  She sold the house, and then that person recently sold the house to my niece.  So that's my fame to Dr. McDreamy.

Easter Eggs and Pail with Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Rub-ons

This week I've been playing around with my FREE Sale-a-bration Rub-ons.  What is better then FREE stuff!!!

I found this pail in my stash of craft items.  I believe I bought it at Target in the dollar spot a few months ago.  It was just a plain lime green tin pail, until I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch holes around the top, then I added some "retired" SU! flower eyelets (both large and small ones).  I've had those eyelets sitting around for a few years...I needed to use them up on something!  Cause when they were in the catalog I hoarded them, now that they are not in the catalog I need to use them up.

Next I added the "friend" piece of the Sale-a-bration rub-ons.  And then added the little butterfly above the word "friend". Want to see the other side of the pail?

For this side, I used the large flower rub-on.  This was so easy to do! I can't decide which side I like better.  Which side do you like better, the "friend" or the "flower"?  Leave me a comment and let me know.

As for the eggs...I bought them at the Christmas Tree Shop a month ago.  They are pretty marble eggs and very heavy.  I had to put several layers of tissue paper in the pail just to support them!  Below you will see close-up pictures of each egg.  You'll notice that I sometimes I layer the green rub-ons on top of the while rub-ons and vice versa.  I think it gave the flowers some depth and I really like the way they look.  The purple egg I went all the way around the center of the egg with flowers, but then ran out of the size flowers I was using (yeah...OK, I did not plan it out, I was just designing on a whim).  So I ended up using a larger while flower and then layered a green outlined flower on top.  I also used a piece of vine and leaf from the 12" long vine and flowers.

Whispering Little Birdie

Aren't these little birds just the cutest?  I used the masking technique to make it look like the little bird is whispering in the bigger bird's ear.

I used the Jersey Shore designer series paper, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, and Brilliant Blue cardstock.  I stamped the birds on Glossy White cardstock with Jet Black Stazon ink and colored them with SU!'s Marvelous Markers.

Check out SU!'s new Fusion Flowers on the lower right corner of the card!  Honestly, when I heard SU! had felt flowers I was not thrilled, but I have to tell you I am impressed with these flowers and I like them a lot.  I'm looking forward to using them on lots of projects!

I gave this card to my 5 year old niece for her birthday yesterday...I hope she liked it.
